Overview

The surface science group at LSU is involved in studies of the surface electronic and geometric structures of metallic nanowires, oxides, thin-films and adsorbates. Our primary tool is synchrotron radiation from the CAMD synchrotron light source where we perform angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy. We are also involved in spin-resolved photoemission and dichroism measurements of magnetic materials. In our campus laboratory, we conduct XPS UPS studies to prepare for the CAMD runs. We also study surface atomic structure with several UHV scanning tunneling microscopes. For an introduction into our methods check out how we :
